READY FOR TANNING?
Dr. Riccardo Matera, Research and Development
A nice sunny day sometimes it can change our mood for the better, it allows us to cope better the daily routine enjoying the benefits in the open air ! A sunny day suggests positive thoughts, energy, beauty and health!
However, it is advisable to know all the implications of the sun to derive all its benefits while avoiding some risks associated with overexposure.
Let's learn to know our primary source of energy well, because incorrect sun exposure can cause not only small sunburn but also increase the risk of developing forms of skin cancer.
UV ultraviolet rays
There sunlight It is made up of different specific bands wavelength (λ) to which they correspond different energies , a small share of this energy is represented by UV ultraviolet rays.
- UVC rays (λ = 40 ÷ 286 nm) are generally filtered by ozone atmospheric and do not reach the earth.
- UVB rays (λ = 286 ÷ 320 nm) stimulate the formation of new melanin despite having low penetration capacity, they act superficially at the epidermis level and are the main creators of tanning. I'm very energy And they can damage cells, causing inflammation and sunburn.
- UVA rays (λ = 320 ÷ 400 nm) represent the largest share of UV rays, they penetrate deeply into the skin and they provoke damage to underlying tissues consequently leading to cellular aging and contributing to the formation of pathological processes . They give a quick tan, taking advantage of the already synthesized melanin.
Sunscreens: an important protection for our skin
Solar products they play a key role in keeping our skin safe. They represent essential defenses for skin health and help to effectively protect from the sun.
The community directives developed by the European Commission since September 2006 specify that perfect sun protection must effectively shield from UVA and UVB radiation and obliges manufacturing companies to display clear labels on products regarding the efficacy and claims of sunscreen products.
As a cosmetic company, BeC worked hard to ensure the better performance for his solar products with the added value of combine essential oils And emollient, hydrating and antioxidant active ingredients , which fulfill the key role of a all-round sun protection , soothing any rashes and preventing skin photo-aging, as well as filtering UV rays.
All of BeC's solar products are based on the combination of the best chemical and physical photostable filters to best cover the UV spectrum.
The particular formulation and effectiveness rigorously tested in our laboratories on humans ensure an even tan in total safety. To ensure this, the filters used in the Sunscreens (SPF 6, 15, 30 and 50+) cover appropriate protection depending on your phototype . Particular attention is paid to very fine and homogeneous dispersion filters in the formula, to obtain an extraordinarily uniform tan and greater safety in protection . There quality of the ingredients , mainly of natural origin ( 100% natural in SPF6 ), makes them highly skin-compatible products and also suitable for more delicate skin.
In BeC sun products there are not only sun filters! There are natural components That stimulate melanogenesis (ATP, tyrosine and riboflavin – vit. B2), making the tan more intense and rapid in a natural way, i.e. helping the skin to protect yourself from the sun.
The formulas of BeC sun products are also rich in natural nourishing, hydrating, emollient and anti-aging ingredients that nourish the skin and help restore or maintain the skin's physiological hydration and elasticity. The daily use of BeC sun products not only avoids damage caused by exposure to the sun, but significantly increases the hydration and elasticity of the skin compared to the starting values!
There Vitamin E natural present in all the products of the line Solar helps counteract the formation of wrinkles and premature skin aging , as well as blocking the action of free radicals, involved in the inflammatory processes associated with exposure to the sun.
BeC solar products carry out this preventive action, in particular the Huile SolÈ® oil which is extraordinarily rich in it. Clinical tests have shown that daily use reduces pre-existing wrinkles by an average of 12% in just one week of treatment! It's a unique result!
In order to protect the skin from harmful radiation the use of our selected solar formulations stimulates natural defenses of the skin in the sun and guarantees an intense and deep tan, keeps the skin hydrated, elastic and smooth, helping to soothe irritation and prevent skin aging caused by free radicals.
Products solar BeC have been formulated to benefit from solar radiation, reducing the risks of side effects such as allergies, photo-sensitization and skin aging.
Take advantage of all the benefits of a healthy tan without giving up excellent sun protection!
In-depth analysis
Let's know better what they are sunscreens authorized in the EU in the cosmetic field in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products:
- Derivatives of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) , filter UVB rays with absorption peaks between 285 and 310 nm
- Cinnamates (e.g. ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate) are capable of protecting from UVB rays as well as functioning as quencher (or quenchers) of molecules excited by solar radiation. They have absorption maxima around 310 nm
- Derivatives of benzylidene camphor , filter UVB rays and are also quencher
- Derivatives of dibenzoylmethane , useful in absorbing UVA rays
- Benzophenones , absorb in the UVA and UVB spectra
- Salicylates have a good absorbent power in the UVB range, with maximum absorption peaks around 305 nm.
- Triazine , p. e.g. Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, an excellent photostable broad spectrum UVA and UVB filter.
- diphenylcyanoacrylates, p. e.g. Octocrylene : a broad-spectrum UVA and UVB filter.
- Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, represent physical filters characterized by a high covering, reflecting and dispersing power of solar radiation.
